Thank you. hey y'all it's me Tara Strong, aka miss minutes for bama geeks I hope you're ready to watch and if you don't I will have to prune you stay on your sacred timeline and welcome to bama geeks we hope you're doing well it's spring It's pollen everywhere. Yeah. Oh, my gosh. Yellow all over. And thankfully, we all made it through last weekend's round of bad weather. We're all here. We'll get to that for sure. Didn't get blown away. Oh, yeah. Yeah, hopefully. And you know what? That bad weather knocked the pollen down for like four hours. Yeah. You know, and the pine trees were like, oh, hold my beer. Yes. Yeah. Oh, absolutely, man. Rough, rough, rough. We'll touch on all that because it is springtime. We welcome the spring and Well, kind of, kind of welcome the spring, but yeah, we'll get on that in just a minute. But again, it's Sunday night. We're live with you right here on YouTube. We thank you so much for being with us. I'm Brock. That's my wife, Jess. And then of course, Kevin and Bo, we are the Bama geeks. We are four friends from Alabama who just hang out and, and, Talk about pop culture things and other random Alabama-oriented things. Nostalgia. A little bit of, did you say hog jowls? Nostalgia. Nostalgia. I mean, hog jowls too, you know. I mean, I don't eat them, but hey, I mean, we could talk about them. I don't know. Guess who's going to try for hearing aids this summer? What? Uh-huh. Hey, conversation. My daughter and I were having yesterday. She's like, dad, it's time. It's like, I know, I know. But, uh, yeah, we, uh, threw, threw a question up in the chat about what are we going to talk about tonight? And, and Bo's like, let's talk about like spring things here in the south. So let me see our little AI generated couple. Oh, that wasn't AI generated couple. That was AI generated. Wow. Yeah. Thanks Canva. But as we, as we chit chat, we'd love to see what you have to say. What are some things, some springtime rituals that, that you took part in? It's Shane. Hey, bud. Shane says, Southern disaster movie idea. Pollen Hurricane. Oh, my God, dude. That's a horror movie. This will be Pollen Coronado this time of year. Yes. Yes. That's the answer. Yes. yes rook this is david rookie rayleigh people this is the guy we're going to have on soon we promise he says was grandpa sneezing or pulling out a gold tooth he's sneezing out a gold tooth Oh my goodness. So yeah. Pop in the chat and, uh, bring up some, uh, some good memories. Some, as we, as I said in the description, we're going to wax nostalgic. I've not used that phrase in, I don't know how many years. Wax nostalgic. It's going to be a good old fashioned Bambi Geeks episode where we just jaw on about everything. Yeah. Remember the time we did this thing and all that stuff. Yeah. You guys, you know, those old folks that sit around in the morning at Jack's. And they talk about everything under the sun. That's every episode. Maybe things that you're talking about that old folks. I saw a good story there. I forgot where it was. There was an older gentleman. He, and he'd go into this particular Burger King like every morning for like twenty something years. And when he passed, the workers like brought his chair to his funeral. Like, oh, that's so sweet. I have to find that story and share it. But yeah, that was like it was really. And like they put his name on the chair at the restaurant. That's like his chair. But yeah, they brought his chair to his funeral. Why isn't that sweet of them? You know, Jax, if you're watching, of course, we would be fortunate enough to where as soon as we got into, as soon as we all pass and they dedicated the spot to us, they tear down the Jax. Yeah. Look guys, I'm telling you, I mean, I'm keeping my eye open for that. You know, when they finally, you know, uh, there's an empty Jack's restaurant. Let's see if we can get it and build a podcast. That would be the studio. Yes. I already told you guys right here where I live. I got an empty waffle house. I'm sure they let us rent it out for a little bit. I like that even better. Shane said he needs to get his mint and julep. Oh, yeah. You want your bamageet scattered, smothered, and covered? Yes. And then break into the wrestling. Yes. That depends on... Are we talking about after we die? What? No. Okay. I didn't know if we were thinking of scattering our ashes all over the Waffle House. No, you don't want to be cremated. You said that. That's true. That's fair, Ice Knight. I get that. Ice Knight says I want to be known for more than a fast food place. That's true. Yeah. But Shane says with a side of someone throwing a container. Yes. There you go. Shane gets it. Oh. Yes, but Waffle House is good fast food, though. It's like... Yeah. It's southern hibachi. Southern hibachi. Yes, it's southern hibachi. Exactly. Yeah. Oh, man. I almost threw that out for a lunch suggestion today, but... You know what? Someone just needs to take these old waffle houses that are closed up now and then just literally reopen them exactly the way they were and just call it Southern Hibachi. Mm-hmm. If I just start a chain called Southern Hibachi, I will totally let somebody else take that. I'm not going to go and grab the URL. Bo's becoming the master of the flat top, you know, sir. I'm working on the flat top and smoking. Yeah. But, but Bo, can you, can you work the twelve a.m., twelve to eight a.m. shifts? I've done, I've done crazier hours, so. Shane says if the cook is not scrambling with her eggs with her fingers in it, it's not Waffle House. That's right. That's how you get the flavor. I don't want to know how the sausage is made. I just want to eat it. We don't want to know what the sausage is. Exactly. Just know. you don't see too many empty waffle houses but I remember you know you said y'all uh you'd always drive in birmingham there for years it used to be that abandoned omelet shop right there on the right now it's like a wing place but yeah the sign's still there okay but yeah does it literally just say wings yeah something like that yeah yeah the old sign is still up there with half the letters gone yeah over time the letters were gradually just falling off you know so yeah I think we got like mail it shop show or something at some point out of the letters. They're still there. About fifteen dollars to pay for a single side of bacon. Yep. I believe that. They got that up charge on those eggs right now. So you leave the bacon alone, though. Yeah. Hey, they can put it up charge on those eggs all day as long as they know they can take it back off. Don't jack up the price on the rest of the stuff. Just if I didn't get eggs, don't charge me for eggs. You know. And if you have any thoughts and comments about Waffle House and you're not in the chat tonight, just go to BamaGeeks.com. Hit that microphone in the lower right-hand corner and leave us a voicemail. Yeah. And if you're watching this stream afterwards, leave us a comment, an emoji. Is there a bacon emoji or waffle emoji? Leave it in the comment. Yeah. Leave it in the YouTube comment. Don't do poo emojis for Waffle House. We want all the bacon and egg emojis you have. That's right. All right, Ron. So Ricky says there's a place on two eighty. I remember that was just called barbecue restaurant. Not sure what they served. I remember. I know what you're talking about. Talking about Lloyd's. Are you talking about Lloyd's? No, no, no, no, no, no. I thought Lloyd's had like Lloyd's like barbecue. No, there's a place I remember. Cause I'd always see that same place on the way down to when I would visit Auburn. It was, yeah, it was a big, as you said, barbecue is a big barbecue sign. Shane says wavy bacon. There's a place on two eighties going towards Auburn. And they call it Ma Reese or something like that. Restaurant. Ma Reese is pretty good. Okay. Look, I'm not knocking them. I bet they are, you know, the little hole in the wall places usually are. She has gotten the best breakfast award and it's Mama Reese, by the way, it's not my mama. And she's getting a bit defensive because you're talking real close to where I live. And she's got the best breakfast award in Talladega County now for five years running. It's just like, Hey, it's like that scene in my cousin, Vinnie, we've got breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Okay. Just don't go there for lunch. Just go there for breakfast. I think I'll have the breakfast. Yeah. I think I'll have the breakfast. Okay. Yeah, I love that part about where he's trying to describe grits because he has no idea what grits is. Sure, sure. I remember watching it for the first time and I was like, who doesn't know what grits are? Well, the Canadians, I'm told, describe them as wet sand. We've introduced at least, what, four or five Canadians to him that we know of. That's Dan Schoening, the comic book artist. for Ghostbusters and TM. I think he's working on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Yeah, currently on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The Saturday Adventures is what I think it's called. Let's dissect that for a second. How could they taste like wet sand? I think it's the consistency. Yeah, it was the consistency of it. Oh, really? Okay. Yeah. Is this a grit? Yeah. Is this a grit? Yeah. We were just talking about this, too, by the way, Shane. Shane said, what about the special when a little space monster pops out of your chest? That's why you don't get the lunch. Oh, no. Not again. We were actually talking about Spaceballs. I thought Brock was going to tell me that he had not seen Spaceballs. She about came apart. The soul was literally in the process of leaving her body when Brock confirmed that he had seen it. Yeah, but he has. He has seen Spaceballs, so that's one of the movies that Brock has seen. We were talking about, I was talking about trying to find someone who still makes the Spaceballs the sheet for your bed because I want to get it because I was just watching Spaceballs not too long ago and then we just kind of got off on the topic. Yeah, so if anybody knows where Kevin can find Spaceballs the sheet, he wants some bed sheets. Yeah. I would love it. Even if it's Spaceballs the quilt, that'd be fine. I'd be all right. Even Shane was panicking that I hadn't seen it. Seriously. Spaceballs the pillow. Next thing you're going to say, you didn't say you haven't seen Blazing Saddles. I mean, come on, man. Oh, one of my all-time favorite movies. Yeah, right. One of my all-time favorite movies. Amazing. And then you watch a minute tights and it's got the quote in there. He says, it's a black sheriff. Yeah. That was on not too long ago. The other day, Pluto has been showing that. Yeah. Pluto. I think it was on Pluto the other day. And I know space balls was, that's where I caught it the other day. The kids love it. Yes. Shane, Shane's all for anarchy right now. Space balls, the flamethrower, the kids just love it. Oh, well, as we mentioned at the beginning, it is springtime in the South. Well, granted, everywhere. But especially in the South, it's a fun time of year, as we all experienced a week ago. We were all hunkered down in storm shelters and everything. Of course, our hearts go out to the people who were, A, had, of course, loss of life. Um, very sad to hear that it's always a rough time, uh, in tornado season down here, especially, but you know, a lot of property destroyed and also a heart's got to them and, and hope you guys can, um, recover soon, whoever was affected by that. But, uh, from, from November to may is our tornado season and well, it started warming up a little bit last weekend and that just caused all kinds of havoc. Yeah, that warm weather stuck it in those where it didn't belong, and it always throws things out of whack. Yeah, but you know, typical first day of spring in Alabama, and the high was like, what, fifty, forties in the fifties, and then the day after the first day of spring, I'm got ice on my windshield, so I'm thawing that out, yeah. It was eighty today. yeah like I said it's matt mitchell he always he brings up every spring he's like he knows mother nature is going to cook us this summer because he because she marinated us with pollen stuck us in the freezer and now getting ready to take us out and cook us so that's yep every year every year you know the the funny thing about this weather this this past week was you know it was it was forecasted to be really bad like the numbers they were saying the numbers were up there with like the you know the devastating tornadoes we had back in And I was fully expecting, I've got this, I've got this, this less than advertised six cents when it comes to like, like severe weather. If I can go out in the morning, like on the day of weather happening and I can just feel like this electric tingling in me. And I swear it's, it's, it's like grandpa's old, you know, bad leg or whatever. And you feel it's something like that, but I didn't feel anything, which kind of blew my mind. I was like, I would have thought that it would have been something that would have been super huge, but it just, everything felt normal that day. So, but on the, you know, when we had the thing in, when we had the really bad tornadoes that went through everywhere. Um, yeah, I was, it was singing like crazy. So, yeah. Yeah, I would. If I didn't have access to James Spann and all the other really awesome meteorologists, I might not know what was going on. I couldn't trust my sixth sense. We were watching you on the map there, Kev, last weekend. Yeah. Unfortunately, one of those losses of life was about fifteen miles from my house. That was pretty close. That was real close. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. We felt the, uh, the out, the outer area of that storm that generated that, that tornado. Um, and, um, it was rough. It was really rough. We had some things that were flying a little bit here. We're not, not too crazy bad, but you know, you know, we. You know, we, we did, we didn't see quite a few of Alabama state bird, you know, you know, and for those who don't know what the Alabama state bird is, that's a trampoline. Quite a few of those were flying around the neighborhood, but you know, that's pretty normal for high winds. Yeah. Yep. Yeah, it's a rough weekend, but talking about this flamethrower, a couple of comments here from Shane says, hey, they come in handy when your driveway ice is over. Yeah, they do. And Chase, hey, buddy. Hey, Chase. Chase says, if you guys haven't seen it, our buddy Jack Dowd built accurate replicas of the Spaceballs flamethrower. And the talking yogurt doll. The doll works, but sadly the flamethrower does. May the Schwartz be with you. Jack's an incredible builder. Yeah, he is. Always talented. And Ice Knight says the storms were further south. Yeah, they dissipated when they reached the northern part here. The power went out here at our house during the sunny part of the day. yeah well we got a tree fell down somewhere and on a nearby street that knocked out our power and then it came back on we don't have any other problems here at our house the rest of the day no we were good hey rook I'm curious about the legality of a homemade flamethrower don't question it I could be completely wrong which along with having a cannon that's one thing you can legally own there's a flamethrower and it's, it's a very, very strange thing because even if you're, it's, it's very, it's very weird. Like with, with cannons, you can, you could legally own like a, a cannon. If you wanted to defend your home, even if you're an ex-con, it's perfectly fine. I may have made a potato gun one time. I used to have the old wooden gun. You bought it. The, the, the, the craft shows and fairs that you had the clothes pin on top for the, with a nail sticking out of the barrel of it and you can pull a rubber band and yeah. Rook, Rook, we have exactly, exactly. Do you have a cannon? Look, we have a guy in our neighborhood that fires off a homemade cannon every time Alabama scores and Alabama football. Seriously? Yes. I don't have to watch the game every time I score. Boom! It doesn't surprise me. I mean, where I live at, we got a firing range on the other side of the river, and then I got somebody that he hasn't done in a while, but we got some neighbor somewhere that sets off Tannerite bombs every once in a while and shakes the windows. So it's, yeah. All right. Just a good old day in the South. You know? Welcome to Alabama. Exactly. In case you're looking to move here, just let me know and I'll get you a good area where you can experience all the fun. Shane says, only in California do you need a permit for a flamethrower, which is not surprising. It probably also causes cancer. Ice Ice says, Mayberry tried selling theirs. Their flamethrower or their cannon? Man, could you say Barney with a flamethrower? It keeps his one fuel cylinder in his pocket. Oh, man. Well, all right. We're new to having geeks with our tangents. I love it. This is what we do, y'all. What are we going to talk about? You know, we find something. I mean... And of course, Rick says they're flame-throwing cannon. Yeah. There is, they've got a cannon down at point clear, uh, at the, uh, there's a, uh, a state retirement owned resort, um, point clear that the grand hotel is what it is down there. And they've got a cannon. They fire off every afternoon. Uh, I think four, maybe so. I always love the endings of the statements. Yes. I once went fishing with a pineapple grenade that had been liberated from Fort Benning, allegedly. Well, what is that? Uh, what is that? There was a Sherman that had a flamethrower cannon. I like nice, nice head liberated or escaped. What is that? What is that museum that's down there? Uh, across the river from Phoenix city. Kevin, we went under for the pirate festival thing. What was that? I don't even remember what the name of that place was. There's a naval naval museum. Yeah. Cause they've got that ship out front. Yeah. But they have a big cannon. They would always joke. We fired at Alabama for so many years and they've yet to fire back, you know? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I forget what the name of that place is. It's been a while. God, it's been, what, ten years since we've been down there, really? So, yeah. Rook says there's good eating if you can pick out the shrapnel. Exactly. We're going to have Rook on here one day, we promise. Very soon. Because he and Chase. Yeah. Rooks, his girlfriend, her her dad is a is a legendary Jungle Cruise skipper at Disney World. Disneyland. Legend. Anyway, we talk about Swoggle. Not Swoggle. I'm thinking of the rest. I was thinking about Hornswoggle. We just finished St. Patrick's Day, y'all. Sorry. Apologies. Hoggle up at unclaimed baggage. Yes. Rook's girlfriend's dad was part of the restoration team on hoggle. Nice. Yeah. Yeah. So we're going to, we're going to try to get him and Rook and his girlfriend on. I think this should tie together once we get Labyrinth out of the way, because you've got to watch Labyrinth. So I think it should all tie together like that. Yeah. Yeah, we need to do it live from Unclaimed Baggage and do an episode there or do some sort of footage there while we're there with Hoggle. That would be amazing. Yeah. Ice Knight said, will Magnus work to take out the shrapnel? Chase says, yes, not that I'd know. With our viewers and our friends, there's all kinds of knowledge. We put all these heads and brains together, you know, Lord help us all. He built that magnet in a cave out of a box of scraps. Oh man. Well, I guess we'll try to get into the topic tonight. Yes. That's all, man. That's no fun. Yeah, I dug out a book, so, you know. Yeah, Jess found her old high school memories book for this. I got mine, too. Look at this. Look at this right here. This is like thirty years worth of memories. Hang on, hold yours back up, Bo. Okay, Bo's is different than ours. I've got the same one that Jess has. Mm-hmm. These are probably the ones that were, and it's, it's coming apart, you know, it's nice. And yeah, the little, the plastic binding in the center is like breaking. I feel bad. I didn't go drag mine out. It's the closet. All the reason I have mine, mine is right behind me with all my yearbooks. That's like, that's just cool stuff. My mom has given me the last few years. And my yearbooks and all that kind of substance storage. I need to get out. You were talking about with it being spring and like spring break activities. Yeah. Actually, crap. Hang on a second. I got to get back to the page. I wrote what I did during my spring break in my senior year. Woo. Let me tell you, I was like, I was having a time. Now I'm really interested to hear. Well. What was life like before me? Yeah. Hang on. Sorry. Oh, geez. All right, Bo, do you, you got something queued up? Uh, I guess it does. Hold on one second. By the way, there's pollen everywhere. Yes. Yeah. There's my blue car is green right now. Yeah. I went, you know what I did? I went and got my car washed and I drove home and I couldn't tell. So, I wrote down that during my spring break of my senior year in high school, I worked mostly. Wow. Evidently, I went to Six Flags that week. Sweet! Yeah. Getting better. I went to the comedy club and saw Killer Bees. Oh, I freaking love Killer Bees. Look, I have my... Like the wrestlers? No, like Killer Bees. The comedian, dude. Look, he signed my ticket stub. Save up. Nice. Yeah. Save up. Save up. Have you not seen Killer Bees, the comedian? Killer Bees is on Moonshiners, man. I've heard... Okay. Everybody watches Moonshiners. Come on, man. That's like one of his catchphrases. What is Moonshiners? Outside of somebody in our chat. It's a show. Allegedly. Allegedly. What? Moonshiners is a show, isn't it? It is a show. Where? I don't know what channel it's on. Google it. Kevin is streaming these things. Allegedly. I get it on Kevin's channel. It's on Discovery, dude. It's been going for like a trillion seasons. Why did you trigger the wiretap over there? I was trying to get an answer for your question. Katie said hamburger. That's my favorite. Shane's got it exactly right. It's a docudrama on Discovery. That's exactly what it is. Okay. That's right. Chase referencing that other person in the chat that may be a moonshiner says Never convicted. Chase knows this other person. Maybe. Allegedly. Allegedly. I have not seen it. I apologize. No, you're good. I'm just saying that's a place that you would potentially know Killer Bees. I actually saw Killer Bees randomly on a carnival cruise one time. He just happened to be on the cruise and doing the comedy. And he was the funniest cruise comedian I have ever seen in my life. Okay, so it's one singular comedian. Yeah, Killer Beez. And Killer Beez. B-E-A-Z. His name is Truett Beasley. Okay. And he's from Opp, Alabama. Oh, seriously? Yes! No, no, no, Andalusia. Andalusia, my bad. Well, no, he said he's from Andalusia, and people started clapping. And he's like, why are you clapping? That's the gateway to Opp. That's my neck of the woods. I grew up in the next county over. Well, how did you not know about Killer Bees? It's been a few years since I've been home. See, that's funny because we would always drive through. One of our drives going down to the beach, say for spring break, would take us through Opp, Alabama. So that was always... Why did you go through Op? I have no idea. This was like the eighties. This was my parents. This is, you know, eighties, early nineties. I mean, this was before MapQuest directions. Well, this was Panama, going to Panama city. This was going to Panama city. I mean, yeah, Op is kind of on the way, but that's. Yeah. We took the back roads. Maybe they had to go see Killer Bees. I don't remember possibly put killer bees on the list brock I mean he's older than dirt so I mean well so why um but I told you I went to six flags there's there's me and well that's not there's me and my boyfriend my high school boyfriend riding the georgia hang on hang on hang on I I'm trying to sit the the now twisted cyclone it is no longer the georgia hold that back up sorry I am, you know what? Forget it. I can't, I I'm on this little screen again. I'm holding my picture. Well, y'all look out here. I got it. There's us riding there. Georgia cyclone. Yeah. Did you have immense back pain after that? Because that's what the Georgia cyclone does to people. This was thirty years ago. She could survive it then. Last time I went on the cyclone, I felt like I had been violated. So it looks like, yeah, I went to Six Flags during spring break. Stop! talking about meatloaf again oh I'm sorry I'm lost this is the add episode brock's confused okay okay hold up okay here we go let brock get his bearings back hold on I'm still trying to catch up. All right. She said killer bees lives in mobile. Well, I mean, it probably now. Yeah. And then he does. He lives there now. Yes. All right. Moonshine is your standard discovery docudrama player. I'm sorry. I'm playing catch up on the chat. And Rick says, we're sure. And we're sure he's not a swarm of bees, bees in a trench coat. I've been fooled before. Potentially. Yes. She said Georgia cyclone got worse as it got older. Yeah, I agree. Yeah. All right. So did space mountain. Yeah. Oh, I can't ride Space Mountain anymore. Anyway, no, I apparently I spent spring break of my senior year, went to Six Flags, went to the comedy club and worked and hung out with friends. So that's what I was doing. Spring of ninety five spring break week. Yeah, my spring break of my senior year was I went to the beach and also flooded the That was, if I'm not mistaken, that was the week of the, I think we've got two weeks of spring break that year because that's when Geneva, Alabama is home to the junction where the Chalk to Hatchie and the P rivers meet. And so there are levies all around the town of Geneva because flooding is a, is a real big issue and flood it flooded that year. Um, I remember the rain was torrential and one of our levees broke and the whole town went under. Did you write the song? I did not. About the levee drinking? No. I didn't drive my Chevy to the levee either. It definitely was not dry. No. Yeah, the whole town of Geneva went underwater and Elba. Elba went flooded that year. But Anyway, that's what I did for my spring break. I know I went to the beach and then had to deal with the flood. So we got a little bit of extra time. Yeah. I got to remember, I want to say we went to Panama city. I think it was the first time I went deep sea fishing, which was very interesting. That's if you've ever, you ever done that, it's especially, I think I've done it twice in my life, but that was the first time I'd done it. Did you need drumming? No, actually, no, I've been good. Like a seasickness is not a problem with me. Even, like, went on a cruise one time, and I could look out the window and see the ocean doing like this. But I've been fortunate. But, like I said, I remember, I think we went to Panama City. Yeah, that's, we went to, of course, like, everybody went to Panama City in the nineties. Of course, we went to Gulf Shores, but we went to Panama City more, which is funny. Like, I think I didn't go since I was in, like, high school. And then fast forward, me and the family went about three or four years ago, and it is a completely different town than it was when I was in the nineties. Yeah, Panama City Beach is so different now. It's, it's not as good as it used to be. It's not like it was for sure. You can't even see the beach from front beach road now. Everything's blocked off. And growing up, we had a, we had a place on the beach, uh, well, a couple of blocks down from the beach, but we would always walk down. I mean, you could see the beach for, for miles during that time, hotels, you know, scattered here and there, but now you can't even see it because. Condos, condos. They want you to pay to see the beach. It's atrocious. All right. Anybody else got spring break memories? Oh, God. Bo's got a picture up. Here we go. This is when we get into the prom part of things. I'm getting stuff queued up here. Oh, okay. I'll get my prom stuff ready in a bit. I think my old high school... went to prom yesterday I think they had theirs a lot of them doing there earlier than yeah it was really because ours was at towards I guess about the beginning of april I like that shane shane said it's a vacation microtransaction to see the beach it's dlc Yeah. Yeah. Panama city beach was, was Pigeon Forge before Pigeon Forge was Pigeon Forge. Yeah. They used to have a, the one thing I always wanted to go into down at Panama city beach was, uh, they had a big haunted house that was right on the beach and you couldn't, I, my parents wouldn't let me go. They were afraid I'd get too frightened and then it burned down. Was it Dracula's castle? That's what it was. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I got a picture of me, uh, Me and the Frankenstein that was. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I got a picture of that somewhere. Shane said it was cringy. Well, they did have a haunted house inside the Miracle Strip amusement park. So they did have that. Miracle Strip was the best. It's Miracle Strip and Shipwreck Island. Is Shipwreck Island still there? It is. Yes. Mm-hmm. Okay. If they ever get rid of the arcade, Funland. Funland? Yeah, Funland. Funland, yeah. That's one of those things I'll be sad if they ever go. Because that place has been there probably since, what, the sixties? Seventies? Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. No, oh, yeah. Probably, yeah. Sixties? Probably in the fifties, yeah. Rick says my dream vacation is just to do a bunch of hokey roadside attractions like that. I would love California. Yeah, absolutely. All right. Hey, we got a, we got a vacation with Rick planned. I'm going to see the largest ball of twine. Minnesota. Oh, Jess. Sorry. We're going to be meeting word. I Yankovic and Huntsville. Do not sing that. Don't sing Arizona in front of him. Take back my card, why don't you? I goofed up, okay? I got a lot of stuff rolling around in my head right now. I was thinking Arizona because of Route Sixty-Six. Meatloaf. Ah, yeah. I always went to Tyndall Air Force Base. Empty beaches and private cabin. Absolutely. Where's that at? Huh? Where's that at? Panama City. Okay. Actually, Ice Knight, that's where I got sworn into the Air Force by the Thunderbirds. They're the Air Force's version of the Blue Angels. They put on a show for us down at Tyndall after I graduated high school, and they swore us into the Air Force. Oh, nice. Yeah, that was really cool. That was a special. I've still got my certificate signed by all of them somewhere. That's really cool. Maybe anytime I'd go down there, we would just go to the Gulf State Park down there. Those beaches are usually always really nice. They were never crowded. She could be doing worse. She could be doing really long when he does. Albuquerque. That's what he always ends his concerts on. A-A-L-L-B-B-E-E. She said, I cannot think of the Thunderbirds without thinking, thinking of the, uh, or without making funny connections to the British show Thunderbirds. Yeah. Yeah. Ice Knight says, yeah, the Huntsville expo is a great lineup. Yeah. Yep. It is. It is. It is. Our, our bank account is not looking forward to the end of April. We're making preparations though. We've been prepping for this one. So yeah. Yeah, we'll be seeing Ernie naturally. Jay said, I've never been to Panama City Beach, but I did Spring Break at Freak Nick in Atlanta twice. Isn't there like a documentary on either Max or Prime or something about that? I think so. I don't know about Freak Nick. Yeah. One of the big parties in Atlanta, like the nineties party. I want to say there's a, there's a documentary on it somewhere. I didn't go to freak Nick, but I was living in Kennesaw back in ninety nine, ninety eight, ninety nine. I didn't go to freak Nick. I always heard about it though. Yeah. I always heard about it from people, but I've never, never ventured over that way. Yeah. I know a lot of people that did though. I have no idea what that is and I'm scared to ask. Basically a big urban Springbank party kind of. Oh, wow. Hulu, okay, Hulu. I knew somebody had it somewhere. All right, well, here, I'll throw up, you know me, I'm the king of finding good old pictures to share, but like I said, this is... Yeah, you go first. This is from my junior prom of, this would be, let's see. Look at that guy. Yes. That's, yep. That's your son? Yeah, so if you want to know what Oliver's going to look like in the future... Tell him I'm sorry. All right. Yeah, this is my parents' living room, which that year, you know, we just took a picture and did like that. And then I've got my, that was my junior prom, which I can't remember what the senior prom song was, but the junior prom song was Casey and JoJo's All My Life was the popular song. That was the prom song. I think my junior one was Everything I Do, I Do It For You. And I think my senior one was Wonderful Tonight. Oh, I got you. And then there's my senior prom. Look at that. Yep. Where's your date? I was a big fan of the little opal thing, whatever, on the collar. That was my thing. Where's your date? I got a picture of my date, but I didn't scan that one in. I didn't have a date my first year of prom. Let's see. I think it's on this little thing here. Let me remove this from here so I can get everybody back to normal. My junior prom was a good date. My senior year was a bust. Let's see. Rook got it, man. Oh, my God. All right. You got to catch me up on this one. Hang on. All right. Shane said it's called Freak Nick. The wildest party never told. At least you had a problem. My high school would not let anyone that didn't have a date go. And then Rooks is sponsored by... What is that? Banta Black is the blackest color. Yes. The bow is like a black hole. Oh, okay. Yeah. off ratio of graduating classes let's see chase said I had to take the balloons to my prom too but all right let's make let's make mo big here let's see oh hang on I'm gonna have to do this another way yeah somebody hi not me what all right there we go hello yeah it's hard to focus on my webcam A young lady named Valerie Hutto. We and her, we were in musical theater together. Nice. We dated for a little while, but, you know, that was it. Okay. Which is funny. I went to actually four proms. I went two years after I graduated because I had a friend in band. She never had a date. So I went because it was cool. Got to hang out with all my good friends again for two more proms. So it was fun. Nice. Yeah. I went to the prom. I didn't go in. Let's see. I graduated in ninety four. So I went to the prom in ninety three. My junior. Ninety four. My senior. I didn't go back in ninety five. Naturally, I was in the Air Force and basic training and going through all that stuff. But in ninety six, I In ninety six, I went back to my the girl I was dating. It was her senior prom. I took her to my junior and then her senior prom. All right. I got mine here. Oh, here we go. All right. Oh, look at that. So there's me at my senior prom with my high school boyfriend. I've also got my prom jacket. program here. So Our prom theme was Endless Love, the Mariah Carey and Luther Vandross version. Was there a guy on the Zamboni singing it? No, unfortunately not. I also have my prom napkin. And there is our prom invitation. So I still have that. I still have my glass somewhere. We had the little champagne glasses. Granted, we were all underage and couldn't drink out of them. I didn't stop half my classmates. I have one more too, because I, that was my prom. That was, that was my senior prom. My boyfriend in high school went to a different high school. So we went to, Oh, I'm sorry. Give me just one second here. I'm going to share screen. Put that comment for Rook. So Rook says, you guys did better than me. I think I played D&D on prom. Yes, you did. I remember. So it's a miracle I'm in a relationship now. That's right. Brock knew you when you were in high school. Oh, I knew him while he was a baby. He was a baby. Brooke was a baby. Okay. So that's my boyfriend at the time in high school. That's his senior prom at his school. And apparently, I was looking at my book, Stairway to Heaven was the theme for that high school. Nice. I approve. They were freaking rocking it. But no, we did not, you know, summon the devil. According to my grandma, you did. So that's what I had wrote down in my book. I want you guys to know that this picture is extremely deceiving because her legs look long in this picture. They're not. They are shapely, but she is short. Thank you. I did have high heels on, though, too. Six inches. I don't know how it is now for the current era prom, but it was always fun. Maybe thanks to seeing how the girls' prom dresses, there would always be those girls that had to be the risque ones and wear the prom that had no dress, that had no bidriff. You know what I mean? I could pull that off then. Yeah. Neither could I. Apparently, let's see, we went to, like, for his senior prom, we went to somewhere called Basil's to eat. I don't even remember what the heck where that was. Maybe downtown, probably, I think. Basil's or Basil's? Hey, and for my... I got Basil's. B-A-S-S-E-L apostrophe S. So... Here in Alabama, that's Basel's. Basel's, yeah. That's probably what it is. For my senior prom, we went big. We went to Olive Garden. That's what I've got on mine here. That's what I've got on here. Let's see. I went to our brand new, twenty-four hour Walmart Supercenter. Nice. In Enterprise. Did it have a subway inside it? It did not, but it had a bench that we all crashed out on for a little bit. Nice. So, that's my senior prom memories. Ice Knight says, wow, promise for popular people up here. I was like, just not popular at all. Eric says, Jess, why does this guy look like someone is pointing a gun at him in both photos? Her dad was there pointing a gun. I had a great boyfriend in high school, by the way. And we're still friends to this day. He's a great guy. Katie said my junior prom theme was bed of roses. Questionable. bon jovi bed of roses oh man how how tall is that was your uh your boyfriend in high school because I know well you were in hills never mind you were in hills I was about to say you're five three yeah I well I mean he was probably like you know five seven maybe five eight so I'm still taller than him Yeah, I guess so. I don't know how did he get taller? I knew something like this was going to come up. So you're friends with him to this day, huh? I'm taller than him. We are still friends. I'm still friends with all of my ex-girlfriends. That's fine. We're still friends. He's got a nice family and everything's good. Are you over there going through photos? No, I'm not going through photos, but I saw something I was going to read. I got to get a good thing. It's got things like simple pleasures like music and stuff you enjoy. And it's like things you enjoy. I put radio stations, one of seven point seven point five. And it's like music rock and alternative is like music you're currently enjoying. Offsprings Americana album and Creed's My Own Prison. So I prove to y'all it's not just a it's not just a phase. It's not just the popular thing, y'all. You see Creed, My Own Prison. Well, it's not just dad rock when it is youth rock. So look what's taped into my senior memory book, right? Right there, right there. Nice. I can't tell what that is. That's Holt. Oh, Kurt. That's Kurt Cobain. I did not realize how old that album was because I was thinking it was more late-nineties. The other day, I was looking and I was like, man, that's mid-nineties. Sorry. I was going to say, he's talking music. That's what I got taped. Nice. That is awesome. Oh, that's legit. I love it. Freaking love it. Shane says, at least yours are friends. Most of my exes are psychos. I didn't say they weren't psychos. I said, I'm still friends with them. Shane, we got something in common, baby. I said, you keep your exes around. I get rid of mine. I don't keep them around. Hey, Bo, if you want to talk ticket stubs. Here we go. Okay. I got this taped in there, so I'm just going to look. Oh, that's beautiful. Right there. Look at that. Wow. And then. Funny enough, because we're going to see Les Mis Wednesday night. I have my ticket stuff for Les Mis for April the fourth, nineteen ninety five at the BJCC. Thirty years later. Thirty years later. I can't think I don't I have to look at the date on it. I can't see it from here. It's kind of faded. But talk about spring break. I have my first legal lottery ticket I ever bought on my board up there. A Florida lottery ticket. Yeah. Before that, he just forged them. Yeah, exactly. You'll also appreciate that I have my movie stubs. Nice. Movie stubs taped here. Cobb Theaters, by the way. Nice. But a bunch of mine, I got to start working on them. I've been reading online trying to how to restore them just because that ink is slowly fading more and more. That's why I'm just taking pictures and scanning them. Okay, so I'll go through these really quick. So the movie stubs I have in here are Wes Craven's New Nightmare. Yeah. Uh, Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. Nice. Uh, some of these are a little faded. What's this one? So are we, it's fine. Um, Oh, interview with the vampire. Ooh. Okay. A lot, a lot of horror. Dumb and dumber. Good choice. Brady Bunch movie. Yeah. Uh, I have Batman. Ninety-five. It's Batman Forever. Okay. It just says Batman, so okay. Batman Forever. You don't have the Beverly Hillbillies movie? Apparently not. Come on, man. Star Trek Generations. Oh, there you go. There you go. That's my heart right there. Dangerous Minds. Wait a minute. Okay. Okay. And... In your senior yearbook of ninety five. Why is it? Generations should be like November ninety four. It's ninety four. It's my senior year still. It started in ninety four. What's the date on the ticket? Is it November eighteenth or nineteen ninety four? It is November twenty eighth. Nineteen. Ten days after it opened, then it opened on the eighteenth at six dollars. Wow. Let's see. Mortal Kombat. Yes. And to Wong Fu. I've only seen clips of that movie. I've never watched it. I need to sit down and watch that movie. I've heard it's hilarious. It is really good. It is really good. And Mortal Kombat is still the most epic opening of any movie ever. It just gets you pumped from literally the first word. Sorry I didn't, I failed to recognize which Batman it was, but I figured y'all would tell me. Yeah, that's not right. Yeah, sorry. right catching up on comments rick said oh man ninety five point nine the tiger and mix ninety six seven were my go-to stations back in the day those are in auburn alabama in case you didn't know shane said no that album is old as the song violent was used in the tank girl trailer yeah okay yeah that's another movie I need to watch I've yet to see I I think I saw it once maybe But Eisenheit said W-III had some great movies back then. W-III or W-B? That's where he might have been, W-B. Yeah. I'm sure there was other movies, but I think some things over the course of thirty years has become separated from this book. We had some great movies back then. Yeah, we really did. Yeah, we did. Oh, we got quiet guys. That's all good. We, we, we, we, we, you know, we, we've been rolling here good for a while. So, you know, sometime you gotta, you. You gotta show Bo what's in that box next to you. Which, what? What's in the box? The box is open. What's in the box? The BBTS? Yeah. The big, bad toy store box. Oh, what'd you get? What'd you get? What'd you get? This is terrible. Oh, that makes it even better. Yeah. While she's getting it, Shane says, Tank Girl is one of those movies that feels like there was two scripts and they kept changing it during filming. Got to see Ice-T as a kangaroo-human hybrid? I don't remember that. Oh, I think I saw what it was. Oh, nice, nice. The Batman and Robin. Nice. Say what you will, that's a pretty cool design. I've come around to the Schumacher Batmans. I've been least mean to them over the years. Is that the one with the back credit card? Yes. Yes. Yeah, the Clooney Batman. Yeah. Yes. So with that, that came in a couple of days ago. With that, I now have all the McFarlane Batmobiles from sixty six and all the Batman movies. Nice. And the Tumblr. Nice, nice, nice. So much to Jess's happiness, I have completed my collection. In our members only episode, we were they were talking about we need to get collector's insurance. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. We got a little adult thing with our church. Yeah. Last will and testament collector's insurance. We were discussing it all. In response to Shane, Rook said, that's Ice-T's true form, he hears. What was it he turned into? Was it in Rick and Morty, Kevin? Yeah, he was literally like an Ice-T. Yeah. Because they did like the lowest ranking, the lowest rated episode that they ever did was the one where they did where it was talking about Ice-T's, where he went back to his planet and he became Water-T. Water-T. Water-T. That episode was so bad. I need to see this now because I watched Johnny Mnemonic for the first time. Johnny Mnemonic, I don't know how you pronounce it, a few months back for the first time, and he just shows up as the cliche hacker guy with the smart dolphin. So this has got my interest piqued here if he's a kangaroo-human hybrid. We're going to drop a bug on the Spider-Man. God, that movie was so... It was horrible, but man, it was the product of its time. That's what I say. Like I'm, it's, I understand now while our parents watched old Westerns and stuff from their timeframe, it's just cause it's familiar. It's a warm blanket. Yeah. It's comforting. I mean, the world is changing. There's a lot of things I'm not into, but I, I try not to be, don't be, Oh, that's bad. Cause I don't like it. I'm just like, Hey, for me, let me go watch old stuff. Yeah. Yep. Yeah. Yeah. I was talking about in our member episode, actually, I'm starting to collect vinyls like crazy and pulling in vinyls because it's like, you know, I don't know. I've gotten to where I like the sound and I'm like, you know, I must be officially getting old. Well, because. You go into Walmart or Target, the vinyl section's larger than the CD collection they have in the stores. Because unlike DVDs, which are now, you're starting to see posts of people's DVDs starting to delaminate and stuff because they were never meant, you know, vinyls just keep rocking, man. They just keep going. So, and plus you can get cool vinyls that are like, you know, clear with like fluid and weird stuff in them and you can display them and it's just, it's amazing. Yeah. The, the, the coolest one I've ever seen was a couple of years ago, uh, they did a re-release of Ren and Stimpy's, uh, you know, their musical album Ren and Stimpy did, and they pressed it and it had kitty litter in it. Oh, crap. It was, it was a very limited number, but yeah, I remember they did that. Well, sitting on top of our turntable back there is the, is the aforementioned soundtrack to... What we were just discussing. Yeah. Nice. I need to get that one. I just, uh, when they re-released, uh, Batman and was it Batman and Robin when they released it a couple of years ago for record store day, I picked it up. It was like for the twenty something, twenty something anniversary. It might've been the twenty-fifth anniversary of the movie. Um, Space Lab nine is about to release the Mass Effect Andromeda soundtrack on vinyl. Yeah, I need, I need to get Mass Effect still. Like I said, I know you got that one from, uh, Bioware. Mm-hmm. Shane said a tank girl had Malcolm McDowell and Lori Petty. Yeah. And in the movie, along with Doug Jones as another King, I'm sure he acts his butt off being a kangaroo. I bet the hands moved very well. Yeah. Doug Jones likes to do. Yeah. Doug was here at, uh, Alabama comic-con a couple of years ago. We got to meet him. What a lovely man. Oh. I did not realize I'd be spending that much time with Doug Jones, and I'm so happy about it. He spent a lot of time talking to us, and I love him. Yeah. Oh, yeah. But back when OmegaCon was a thing, way, way back in, we had, what was his name, Richard Leparmentier, who played that role, Monty, you know? And I sat down and had a long conversation with him, and he was perfectly fine having a long conversation as long as you kept giving him alcohol. I'm sure it was a fun conversation as the night went on. The dude was amazing to talk to him. And like Peter Mayhew was always amazing to talk to. Yeah. Yeah. Well, I mean that both of them have passed away at this point. We, we, we always called him Richard like Parmesan cheese. I mean, it makes sense. Yes. He would always, you know, do the photos. I've got a photo of me somewhere where he's doing the choke, you know, he's going to do the, cause he was the one who got choked. So he was, he was an awesome guy. nice yeah probably probably not nearly as good as doug jones but uh it was it was so hilarious that you know um he was perfectly fine to sit there and talk and talk as long as you can't buy them drinks yeah so I talked to him for like you know well over an hour it was amazing and we waited we know why we waited in line so long for doug because I mean he took he took so much time with everybody yeah that came up there and I mean it was just it was it was it's always, you know, those, those experiences that you hope that you'll have when you finally kind of meet that person that comes to a con that you've, you know, that you wanted to meet. That's like, well, we, we got them here in the chat was one of my favorite memories for con type stuff is always us eating dinner or not once, but twice with Ernie. Both times Chase was there with us and Brooke was there with us. Hopefully maybe, uh, we'll see. Oh, buddy's coming back, you know, next month to Huntsville. So we'll see. Right. Yeah. Yeah. It'd be good to see Ernie again. It's been a while. I got a chance to talk to him at the Frozen Empire premiere a year ago in New York. And he remembered me, which was cool. Oh, wow. Yeah. So it was good to see him. It'll be great to catch up with him for a few minutes, you know, in Huntsville. There's a lot of people we want to see in Huntsville. That lineup is amazing right now. Yep. And it doesn't say, and they just, you know, add sting to it. So there you go. Yeah. But she's only going to be there Sunday. Um, Bo, what have you, uh, What are you doing? You're coming up, right? I know I'm coming for Saturday for sure. I ain't made it long before staying all night or not. I mean, we'll see. Oh, well, you already got your, you did the black and white face paint. Yeah, I've already got a photo of his thing. Like, I'm cool. Yeah. Yes. Not his just thing. It's Sting! Yeah. Yeah, of course, though, it would be fun to get a picture with the Scott Steiner and Human Hybrids thing that he is rocking now with the beard and the painted on soul patch. Right. That's a, uh, Bo, that's another good one. A Chris Van Vliet interview come out with Scott Steiner. That's a good one. Yeah. If you can check that out. I got, it's, it's, it's springtime. I did my first lawn mowing since the last time we've talked. And that'll be when I get all my podcasting catching up. Hey, hang on a real second. I got to show you this because this goes back to what we were talking about earlier. Um, hang on. while she's looking that up, uh, I'd love to remind you to like this, uh, this live stream, this video, if you're watching it after the fact, uh, leave us a comment, drop an emoji, you know, your favorite emoji, you know, something that's reminiscent of your youth, you know, or if you're still young, something that you're into right now, just, uh, drop your emoji into the comments and, uh, If you're listening to the audio version on Spotify or our Apple podcast or whatever, make sure you leave us a five-star rating on there. We would appreciate it. Drop a comment on there. Let us know how you found us. If there's something you want us to discuss we haven't discussed before or go over again, give us some ideas. If you're new here, we ramble. That's what Southerners do. We shoot the breeze and invite you to to shoot it along with us. Or as we say here in the South, we jaw on a bit. It's good to have y'all along with us on Sunday nights, the participation and the chat. It's like, just like I said, just friends sitting around talking. Yeah. Bama's in the name, but we will greatly spread out to other areas and topics to talk about things. And Rook, I just want to tell you that it's perfectly valid to talk about your childhood to put, to put poo emojis. It's fine. Yeah. Chocolate ice cream. Yes. Chocolate ice cream. There you go. Here's this, um, Yeah. There it is. Oh, nice. You've shown me that picture before. Yeah. That's me and Frankie, Panama City Beach, nineteen eighty three. Oh, I love that. Yeah. So awesome. I thought, man, that guy, he's he's out there in that suit and that get up in the Florida heat. God bless him. There was it wasn't Frankenstein, but there was a picture I remember back in the newspaper about. when that place burnt down and one of the actors still in his makeup was just kind of you know shuffling along outside depressed had a cigarette in his hand he may have been the one that said it on fire I remember that vividly now oh castle burned down man You made me think you got with that. Like I said, according to my mom, this was either spring or summer, but you were talking about like for the year. This either had to be Panama City or Gulf Shores, but here is me outside of a McDonald's in the eighties. And it just, you got me thinking, this is two, this is eighty-five. So this is not long after your photo there, Jess. It's like you're about to do Mac and Me. Yeah. With the McDonald's dance. Yes. oh my gosh it was it was you that sent the mac and me song the other day yeah we did the sabotage yes that was the most perfect soundtrack yes it is a facebook reel do yourself a favor and look it up if not we'll share it in the front porch or something I've got to go back and watch mac and me that is it's a guilty pleasure man it really is don't you have enough going on not to waste that time that movie's so Just put it on for background noise one day. I mean, if you really want to waste some time, rewatch Peanut Butter Solution, okay? That's a waste of time. Mac and Me, I think, is quality entertainment, honestly. Oh, my goodness. I can think of worse. You can let me pick a movie. Oh, we did Mac and Me review there, Rook. Yeah, we did. Yeah, we did. Yeah, we did. Go back and search for it in the archives, man. Yeah, Rook's been really busy. Yeah, I know. Oh, yeah, no, understandable. Yeah, we've done one, and Bo shot off the comment of the night while we were talking about it. We'll save that for you. I don't want to spoil it for you. Yeah, I know. You're catching up. You're getting there. Rook, I'll help you. I am searching on BamaGeeks.com. Mm-hmm. There you go. We have a search function, and it will tell you. Episode eight, Rook. Mm-hmm. God, that was a long time ago. Episode eight. Episode eight, June thirtieth, two thousand twenty one. We're at one oh two and that was number eight. Wow. That feels like that was like like last year. I say the rooks are now into Bama geeks. Oh, yeah. Episode eight. It doesn't seem that long ago. It feels like that was last year when we did it. Yeah, it is. Yeah, Rook, just go to BamaGeeks.com and go to episode eight. And that will be your Mac and Me review. It will not disappoint. The episode is called Mac and Geeks. We make up terrible names for all these episodes. I do. It's my fault. It's all your fault. It's all your fault. Yeah. And you can follow that up with the Alabama Made film that I made Brock and Jess watch. Oh, Hide and Creep. Yes. Hide and Creep. Yes. Yeah, you need to go. Yeah, Rook, you need to go find Hide and Creep. And then watch that. It was on Tubi last time I checked. Yeah. You watch the movie, obviously, but watch our review of it just to see how incredibly uncomfortable Brock was the entire time we talked about that movie. We got that. Kevin doesn't get to suggest movies anymore. That Lomageddon. Lomageddon was terrible. If you want another bad movie. Mack and me was a good one. I... That's a guilty pleasure. I've got to go back and watch it. It's been that long since I've seen it. I haven't seen it since then. You've got so many more movies you haven't seen. I know. Do we want to shoot for Labyrinth soon? So we can have Rook and Penny and Freddie on here? I'll try to get to Labyrinth soon. I'll tell you what. We will rearrange a time with Rook and Penny and Freddie and get them on here. Before that one, I will watch Labyrinth so we have a frame of reference with Hoggle for me. Not hornswoggle. Not hornswoggle. Not the little person wrestler. If we're going to do that, we really do need to figure out a tie-in. Obviously, we're going to talk about unclaimed baggage, but it would be nice if we could get up there and do some sort of promo or something. I've been itching to go back up there and do some shopping there anyway. Seriously, we could plug that place because you get some crazy deals from there. Like I said, we're just going to have to carve out that time. Road trip! I would love it. I don't know how long it's going to be before we can. Can't be next weekend or this coming weekend. Well, and coming up here soon, there'll be a block of time where I'm going to be gone out of the country. We'll discuss. This may be a summer thing. We might try. We'll get some discussion going here. Summertime and unclaimed baggage. I want to go over to Sand Mountain and see all the snake handlers churches. Hey, you have fun with that. We didn't say we wanted to go in. Yeah. I saw the videos where those preachers got bit. We're talking about just roadside. We still got to try to maybe this Halloween do the haunted chicken house. We pass by the haunted chicken house every other weekend. You know how they've got all the limos and stuff. Chase knows what we're talking about because Chase has driven past it. They've got all the hearses and everything else buried in the ground or whatever. They've got one or two airplanes now. Yeah. Yeah. Airplane sitting up. It was during the Halloween season. The airplane was, they've got two tall poles with the airplane mounted on is like one of those little single prop jobs. And now it's hanging off to the side. So it looks like it's flying sideways. Yeah. Yeah. They got to fix that. Yeah. Haunted chicken house. Yeah. Lots of fun. Right. Yeah. Only in Alabama, this place, but And I've never, uh, last year, my daughter did eight rocks. That was her very first haunted house. And I'm like, well, that's just something to step into for your first, first go around. But she loved it. They had a great time, but I was going to take them to the haunted chicken house for their first one. But yeah, she decided to go to eight rocks. Oh, and just here in the chat, our friends, Friday Night Frights, they are getting prepped and getting their final season together. They're going to start shooting that soon. So we want to give a plug to our friends, Friday Night Frights, and hopefully we will get them back on again for an episode at some point this year. We missed out before the last season. They got their last season rolling with schedules were crazy. And, uh, because some of them, as a matter of fact, work places like, you know, the haunted houses and stuff here in the area during that season. So things got a little crazy. So hopefully, uh, Joe and Barry and Amanda, we can get with y'all soon and we'll figure something out because this is the final season for Friday night frights. I hate that. It's the last one, but we'll have to try to try to do something with them for sure. And y'all, if y'all haven't checked it out, check them out. Friday night frights. And just a watch FNF. Yeah. Friday night frights, watch FNF.com. They're running a campaign right now, fundraising for this final season. So make sure you go support them. They're a lot of fun. Great people. We love them. Yep. So, well, any, I really didn't have any prom memories to share the, it's all a blur for me too. So, well, I, The thing is junior prom was fun. I had to get my, my girlfriend back to her house early. Her parents didn't want her staying out late. And that's when we went to, uh, that's when we went to the twenty four hour Walmart and enterprise that had just opened. So, you know, we were, we were renegades. Um, senior, senior prom, uh, was not dating the same girl, but the girl I did take was promising, uh, until the prom. And then she just, I don't know, clammed up and just really didn't talk or do much all night. So she was as far as dancing and everything. So she was kind of a dud. Um, but then, like I said, it went back in ninety six with my eleventh grade girlfriend. We started back dating again while I was in the Air Force. So I came back and had a great time for her senior prom. That was a lot of fun. Yeah. So I really don't have any just outstanding memories. We always held hours at Fort Rucker at the non-commissioned officers club there in Delville. So I was not a wild person at all. Yeah. I think we, like, I think, I think my senior year we went, uh, one of the, somebody had rented a hotel. We hung out there, but like, it wasn't nothing crazy, crazy wise. Yep. Yeah. I will say for my spring break during senior year, when it did flood right before it flooded and I escaped down to the beach for spring break, I went by myself and for a couple of days. Do you remember Prodigy? Yes. The online service? Yes. Not the band. I remember both. Well, Prodigy had just started in our area. They got a local dial-up number in Dothan. And yeah, of course, I didn't live near Dothan, but my mom told me, hey, we have a phone plan for Where Dothan acts like a local number for us. And I said, so I can use my brand new computer and dial into Dothan? You don't mind? She said, no, I don't mind. Oh, my God. That first phone bill was eight hundred dollars. My mother beat me. Yeah. And the phone bill after that was six hundred dollars. She beat me again. Oh, my God. Yeah. But I say that to say this. I made friends on Prodigy. One, I'm still really good friends with today. A girl from West Palm Beach, Florida, and still keep in touch with her today. on Facebook. We talked just the other day, just the, Hey, you know, commenting on each other's stuff. Um, so that's probably, that's my first online friendship and it's certainly my, my longest. I, it's hard to believe it's been since ninety, ninety three. Wow. Yeah, I first met her on Prodigy on one of those message boards because she was a high school drum major and I was a high school drum major. So we found each other on a drum major board somebody had created on Prodigy. But anyway, I met another girl who lived closer by in the Panama City area. And I went down there for spring break to meet her face to face. And we went out to dinner and Then I drove around Panama City by myself. My mother trying to find me because we didn't have cell phones back then. Oh, the rain's coming. You might want to get back and then it flooded. Back when we could be gone and couldn't be found. Oh, Chase. Chase says, the girl I took to my eighth grade dance, once we got there, she would not dance with me and insisted her friends be in the photo with us. After the pic, she formally dumped me. And I walked home. Chase said he never went to another dance. Where's the process right, Sam? I would say, Chase, even though I'm sad you had to go through it, I think things worked out for you very well in the relationship department. I think you're doing very well. You rebounded nicely. Very nice. You know, we have to go through those things sometimes. That's right. Yeah. The girl I took to my, my senior homecoming, she had, she made sure she brought her friend and didn't dance with me that night. And then one of my other friends, one of my really good friends, a girl I did want to date all the time. And she never wanted to date me because I had a nasty habit of not talking to my ex-girlfriend after we broke up. So she wouldn't date me. until this day we're still friends it's awesome um anyways she she felt bad for me so she danced all night with me which was kind of a double-edged sword because great that I had a friend who would do that and it was the girl I really wanted to date but she wouldn't date me because she didn't you know she she didn't want to lose that friendship and she didn't we yeah we still keep it we talked the other day yeah sounds like it's the best it was she was the smart one there right She, and she was incredibly smart. Yeah. Yeah. Cause yeah. Who knows what would have happened? Yeah. We went to not too long after Brock and I were together. We went to her and her now husbands, uh, in gate. Well, I think it was, was it a little party they had after they got married for friends and stuff? Yeah. Okay. I couldn't remember. I don't, I think it was past engagement. I think it was just the little, they had, they got married and they had like a little get together at their house for friends and stuff one night. Yeah. Yeah. She was there when my son was, well, she wasn't there when he was born, but she came to visit at the hospital not long after my son was born. Yeah. And then my daughter, who was two, two and a half at the time, reached up and grabbed her necklace and snatched it off and broke it. Oh, man. She's like, it was costume jewelry. Don't worry about it. Yeah. Well, I, yeah, I don't have really any more springtime activity memories, no prom memories. It was, it was really non, non-eventful at all mine. Yeah. When, when, when, you know, The rest of the Bambi Geeks here brought up that. I was like, well, I'm not going to have much to contribute for because I really don't have a lot of strong memories from high school to really talk about, honestly. I mean, maybe if I had dug up my yearbooks, I would have had a little bit more. But I mean, honestly, high school is a blur for me. I really didn't have a lot. I get that. Yeah. Yeah. I'm sure there was a lot of cool things that happened with me. It was more whenever I was, uh, whenever I first moved to the, uh, uh, the high, the elementary school that I went to when I moved, um, from central Alabama, I went into North Alabama and, uh, that school I was going to, I went through the whole, the whole, uh, vanilla ice phase of having the vanilla ice haircut. I had like the spiked hair with stripes cut in my head. I was doing everything I could do to be distracting. So after that, and after I calmed down, I was just, I was just a boring kid for the rest of the time I was in high school. So I peaked in that time. Word to your mother. You had a vanilla ice haircut? Yes, I did. Do you have a photo of this? I'm sure I do. I have a whole backpack full of photos my mother gave me that I have yet to go through. I will see if I can find you one and show you. That would be great. And I also had a rat tail. Look at that. Egon? For the Real Ghostbusters? Yeah. Yeah. It was, uh, yeah, I was, I was doing everything that could be to be as distracting as possible. It was incredible. Um, but, uh, yeah, yeah. Not a whole lot to talk about in high school. So nice. Uh, I still remember quite a bit of high school, which is amazing considering how bad my memory is, but I had a lot of fun in high school. We had, we got into our fair share of trouble. Not a lot, but yeah. Yeah. Okay. Well, anybody got anything else they want to talk about before we call it a night? I think that's it. I mean, okay. It's all good over here in this corner of the room. Oh, apparently. Nice pictures and all. So, well, if you want to find out more about the podcast and about us, you just go to BamaGeeks.com.
